About The Midwife
Rebecca was born and raised in Muscatine, Iowa. She currently lives in Dysart, Iowa, along with her husband, Trevor, their son Sean, and their cats, Hemingway and Matilda.
She attended the University of Northern Iowa where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in December 2014. After spending two years as the Coordinator of Newborn Hearing Screenings at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL, Rebecca decided to begin her journey in birth work as a birth doula and placenta encapsulation specialist.
In May of 2018 Rebecca started school at the Midwives College of Utah, earning her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery in April of 2022. She trained as a homebirth midwife in Iowa and Minnesota as well as a 9-month residency at a Wisconsin birth center. She trained under a variety of midwives including traditionally trained direct-entry midwives, certified professional midwives, and certified nurse midwives.
As a healthcare practitioner, I primarily serve families located in Iowa or southern Minnesota, many of whom live in rural areas and value a natural way of living. My clients are those who desire greater control over their healthcare and pregnancy experiences. When working with these families, I recognize the importance of involving the entire family in the process and therefore consider them all to be my clients, not just the mother and baby.
